Privacy Policy

Effective April 29, 2026

DMV Permit Practice Test 26 ("the App", "we", "our") is published by Zedi Apps. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and the third parties involved.

The App has no sign-up or account system. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any contact information.

1. Data we collect

Coarse Location

Our analytics provider (Google Firebase Analytics) derives an approximate location from your IP address on the server side. We do not request location permission and we do not access GPS or precise location.

Device Identifier

Firebase Analytics generates a Firebase Installation ID — a randomly generated, app-scoped identifier — to distinguish unique devices for analytics reporting. We do not use Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).

Product Interaction (Usage Data)

We log anonymous events that describe how the App is used, such as:

  • Vehicle type and U.S. state selected
  • Practice tests started and completed, and pass/fail outcomes
  • Whether a chat message or sign-scan was sent
  • Whether the upgrade prompt was shown
  • App rating value submitted from the in-app rating prompt

These events are not tied to your identity and are used in aggregate to improve the App.

Photos or Videos (AI Sign Scanner)

When you use the Live Camera Sign Scanner, the captured image is sent to a third-party AI provider (see Section 2) so the AI can identify the sign and explain its meaning. Images are not stored on our servers and are not used for advertising.

Other User Content (AI Chat)

When you ask a question in the AI Study Tutor, the text of your message is sent to a third-party AI provider (see Section 2) so it can generate an answer. We do not store these conversations on our servers.

2. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

  • Google Firebase Analytics & Remote Config — app analytics and feature flags. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • OpenAI — powers part of the AI Study Tutor and Sign Scanner. OpenAI Privacy Policy
  • Anthropic (Claude) — alternative AI provider for the Study Tutor and Sign Scanner. Anthropic Privacy Policy
  • Google (Gemini) — alternative AI provider for the Study Tutor and Sign Scanner. Google Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store — handles all in-app purchases and subscriptions. We never receive your payment information.

3. How we use the data

  • App functionality — to deliver the AI Tutor, Sign Scanner, and other features you actively use.
  • Analytics — to understand which features are used, identify bugs, and improve the App.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not run third-party ad networks, and do not sell data to data brokers.

4. Tracking

We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because no such tracking takes place.

5. Data retention

Firebase Analytics data is retained according to the retention window we configure in the Firebase console (currently the standard period). Chat messages and scanned sign images are not stored by us; AI providers may retain them under their own policies, typically for a short abuse-monitoring window.

6. Children

The App is intended for users preparing for a U.S. driver's permit, which generally requires being at least 14–16 years old depending on the state. The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us and we will assist as required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Because the App does not collect personally identifying information and has no account system, most data we hold cannot be linked back to you. To exercise any available rights or to ask a question about your data, email us at teamiosdeveloper@gmail.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be reflected in-app or in the App Store description.
